Op zoek naar méér informatie over de oorsprong van onze tak van de Nesvadba’s in Tjechoslowakije… Er met de auto naar toe, of op afstand informatie proberen in te winnen? Dat eerste blijft nog steeds een plan, het tweede is op een doordeweekse woensdag al mogelijk. En als je dán beet hebt, dan kan je er altijd nog heen voor een weekje én heb je meer kans op een succesvolle onderneming ter plekke.
Dus een kwestie van een paar archieven aanschrijven, waar van ik weet dat de familie Nesvadba in die regio geleefd heeft. Maar dan nóg blijft het nog niet zeker of er documenten over hen te vinden zijn. Bovendien blijkt het dat de lokale en regionale archieven een soort van gefuseerd zijn, en waar zijn dan de documenten terecht gekomen? Bij dóórvragen op bepaalde haakjes is de taal voor mij een extra issue: men spreekt moeizaam Duits of Engels, en dat maakt het niet makkelijker.
Per mail -wat iets makkelijker communiceert- wel op een nieuw spoor gebracht, zoals de lezen valt uit onderstaande mailwisseling met het archief in Pardubice. Dat geeft dan wel weer hoop.

Currently I live in the Netherlands, and I am researching my family roots. I know my grandfather’s farther was born in Pardubice. His name is Florian Anton Nesvadba. He is born in the year 1862.
I know very little of him or his family, and I would really like to find out more. I do know his father name (Florian Nesvadba), and his mother name (Katherina Michaelec). I do not know their birthdays.
Can you help me by telling me what is the best archive to do research (Pardubice, or Zamrsk, or… )?
Can you do some part of the research for me, based on his name and birth place?
What kind of information (documents) can I expect to find?
I hope to find more detailed information about him, his parents and maybe brothers or sisters, their exact names, if he studied or went to school, if he served in the army, what job(s) he occupied etcetera.

Na een paar weken volgt antwoord op 14 mei 2014 van een medewerker van het archief.
Dear Mr. Nesvadba,
we didn’t find birth of Florian Anton Nesvadba in Pardubice in the year 1862. We have find only his sister Albina Marie, who was born in Pardubice on march the 18th in the year 1861. We also find mariage of her parents, Florian Nesvadba and Katerina Michalec in Brandys nad Orlici on october the 31st in the year 1859 (see picture).
You can visit our archive in Pardubice, Belobranske namesti 1 on mondays and wednesdays 9-18 hour or on fridays 9-15 hour.

Mooi dat er antwoord gekomen is op mijn bericht. Er zit zelfs een scan bij van ede inschrijving van het huwelijk. Leuk! Omdat zijn mailtje verder meer vragen oproept bij mij, schrijf ik Petr zo snel mogelijk terug:

It also raises some more questions, that I would like to write down below:
- What does it mean that you did not find FA Nesvadba’s birth in Pardubice? Does it mean that he was not born over there? And what would you then recommend me to do for research in order to find information about his birth? Or can it mean that the documentation was removed or destroyed from your archive? What could be a reason for that? Or could it be that 1862 is not the year of his birth, and could it be an option to search other years?
- Can we conclude that Florian and Katherina only had 1 daughter and 1 son? If not, how (and where) could I research further? Where can I find more information about birth and death of Florian and Katherina (or any other life event)? Do you expect their graves to still exist?
- How would I be able to further research the origin of the family name ‘Nesvadba’? I would be interested to know when the first ‘Nesvadba’ is registered. How can I find out?
- To be honest: I think the name ‘ne svadba’ is – to say the least – remarkable. How do you think it would be possible to find it’s origin? Why would anyone take this name (especially since it has some negative connotation)? I understand when this is difficult to answer.
Please be aware that I am plannig to come to Prague/Pardubice in the month of July of this year, and therefore any information from your side about what you would advise me for the research is very much appreciated. I do not speak your language, and I am not familiar with your country ;)) Any help is welcome!

Er volgt nog een laatste mail terug op 29 mei 2014, en daar laat ik het voorlopig bij wat betreft het archief in Pardubice.
Dear Mr. Nesvadba,
- Original parish registers are archived in archive in Zamrsk. In archive in Pardubice we have only copies of these books and there is missing year 1860. Betveen 1861 and 1866 Flarian Nesvadba and Katerina Michalec had only one doughter Albina Marie. But they had marriage in october 1859, so maybe they had first child in 1860. There is also possible, that Florian Anton Nesvadba was born in another year than 1862 or he was not born in Pardubice. Most important source for your research is the parish register in Zamrsk.
- Parish registers for Pardubice (in archive in Zamrsk) contain alphabetical lists for births, marriages and deaths. You must hope, that Florian and Katerina Nesvadba did not move from Pardubice, because in this case would be very difficult to find where did they leave and where did they death. I don´t expect, that their grave still exists, because it is too many years from their death and if nobody paid taxes for the grave, the grave was probably canceled.
- On the picture of marriage Florian and Katerina is written, that Florian Nesvadba came from Prilepy in Moravia and in the year 1859 he was age 31. So he should born arround year 1828. The parish register for southern Moravia can you find in archive in Brno and these registers are availible on internet – www.actapublica.eu .
- According to one book about czech names, the name Nesvadba means in “old czech language” someone, who didn´t live sexually. The name could be translated Ne–svadba = No–marriage.
